On September 27, 2026, around 1:30 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle along Garrett Highway north of Oakland, for traffic violations. As a result of the traffic stop and investigation, deputies arrested Kristie Jean Whiteman, 30 years old, Mount Savage, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and related offenses. Whiteman was transported to the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office where she was later released after signing her appropriate citations.
