THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY TO YOUR USE OF GARRETT COUNTY CRIME SOLVERS WEB APPLICATION.

DO NOT RELY ON THIS SERVICE FOR ANY EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION WHATSOEVER TO LAW ENFORCEMENT. IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, PLEASE DIAL 911.

YOU SHOULD NOT RELY UPON THE INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE GARRETT COUNTY CRIME SOLVERS WEB APPLICATION AS ANY TYPE OF MONITORING, ALARM OR SECURITY SERVICE.

  1. Tip Submission and Disposition: There will be no guarantee of security or timely delivery or reception of the submitted information. Garrett County Sheriff's Department makes no guarantee as to (or assumes any responsibility for) how or when any submitted information may or may not be acted upon by law enforcement. Because submitted tips may not be monitored by law enforcement after hours and over weekends, you may wish to consider alternate contact methods if the tip contains information of a timely nature. Use Crime Solvers Tip Line 301.334.1975 to submit tips that are URGENT in nature that are time sensitive.
  2. Improper/Illegal Use Tips. The Web Tip submission system (the "System") is provided to the public for the purpose of anonymously reporting known or suspected suspicious or criminal activity which has occurred, or may occur. Any misuse or abuse of this system is strictly prohibited. MAKING A FALSE REPORT TO LAW ENFORCEMENT IS A SERIOUS OFFENSE AND MAY BE PUNISHABLE BY LAW. You acknowledge and confirm that the information you are providing is not urgent or requiring prompt or immediate attention, and you understand that you should call 911 or the Garrett County Sheriff's Office at 301.334.1911 or Crime Solvers at 301.334.1975 or contact the appropriate authorities by phone if this is time sensitive information. Children must be 13 years or older or have parents' permission to use this service.
  3. I agree that by my use of this System I will indemnify and hold harmless the Board of County Commissioners and Garrett County Sheriff's Office of Garrett County, Maryland (hereinafter the "County"), its elected and appointed officials, employees, and volunteers and others working for or on behalf of the County, from and against all loss, cost, expense, damage, liability or claims, whether groundless or not, which may be sustained or claimed by any person or persons, based on any act or omission, negligent or otherwise, arising out of my use of the System
  4. Any reward granted that is not picked up within 30 calendar days from the notification period will be forfeited back to the Crime Solvers general fund.
  5. When you agree to accept the reward, you understand that your identity at the time you pick up your reward could be identified by mere coincidence from familiarity. If you are concerned with this issue, send a person of your choice to the Garrett County Finance Office with your code to obtain your reward. We are not liable for the proper distribution of reward money beyond identifying the proper code.
