On October 26, 2026, around 10:00 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle along Walnut Bottom Road for traffic violations. During the course of the traffic stop a Sheriff’s Office K-9 was utilized and conducted a scan of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of crack cocaine.
The driver of the vehicle Randolph William Ruffner, 67 years old, Oakland, was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine. Ruffner was transported to the Garrett County Detention Center, where he was later released on his own recognizance after appearing before a District Court Commissioner.
