On September 25, 2026, around 9:00 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle along Memorial Drive for traffic violations. As a result of the traffic stop and investigation deputies arrested Michael Lynn Smith, 62 years old, Oakland, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and related offenses. Smith was transported to the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office where he was later released after signing his appropriate citations.
