From the desk of Sheriff Bryson Meyers:
On October 27, 2026, just after midnight, deputies stopped a vehicle along Maryland Highway near Youghiogheny Drive for traffic violations. During the course of the traffic stop a Sheriff’s Office K-9 was utilized and conducted a scan of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert.
A search of the vehicle and occupants resulted in the recovery of Fentanyl, Buprenorphine, Oxycodone, and drug paraphernalia.
As a result, the following individuals were arrested:
Alisha Lynn Bowman, 43 years old, Fort Ashby, West Virginia
• Possession of Oxycodone
• Possession of Buprenorphine
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Jeremy Edward Sweitzer, 44 years old, Oakland
• Possession of Fentanyl
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Both Bowman and Sweitzer were transported to the Garrett County Detention Center, where they were released on their own recognizance after appearing before a District Court Commissioner.
