On September 12, 2026, deputies arrested Austin James Ringer, 25 years old, Oakland, for Violation of a Court Order. During the arrest, Ringer kicked the door of a Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle causing dents and other damage to the door. Ringer was transported to the Garrett County Detention Center where he was later released on his own recognizance. Further charges are pending as a result of the destruction of property to the Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle.
