On August 22, 2026, deputies responded to Oak Street in Oakland for a motor vehicle accident. As a result of the investigation, Barrett Franklin Fitzwater, 56 years old, Oakland, was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence and related traffic charges. Fitzwater was transported to the Sheriff’s Office and later released after signing the appropriate citations.
