From the desk of Sheriff Bryson Meyers: On June 2, 2026, the Garrett County Narcotics Task Force, with the assistance of the Garrett County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police conducted a traffic stop in Oakland. During the stop, a probable cause search was conducted that led to the recovery of 26.8 grams of methamphetamine, having a street resale value of $2600.00.
As a result of the investigation, the following individual was arrested and charged:
• Kersin Marie Rinker, 31, Mountain Lake Park - Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine and Possession of Methamphetamine.
Rinker was transported to the Garrett County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
Sheriff Meyers stated, "We will continue strong drug enforcement throughout the county. Methamphetamine is destroying lives and tearing families apart, and it has no place in Garrett County."
The Garrett County Narcotics Task Force is a cooperative enforcement effort between the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office, the Maryland State Police, and the Garrett County State’s Attorney Office.
