Drug Arrests Following Traffic Stop
On April 9, 2026, The Garrett County Narcotics Task Force, with the assistance of Garrett County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Maryland Natural Resources Police, and the Maryland State Police, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Kitzmiller. During the stop, Deputies developed probable cause to conduct a search of the vehicle.
During the search, Deputies located controlled dangerous substances and drug paraphernalia.
As a result of the investigation, the following individuals were arrested and charged:
• Tonia Jo Collins, 43, Oakland – Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Fentanyl
• Mark Allen Harvey, 32, Kitzmiller – Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Fentanyl
• William Edmon DeWitt, 41, Oakland – Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Fentanyl
All three individuals were transported to the Garrett County Detention Center for processing. The Garrett County Narcotics Task Force is a cooperative enforcement effort between the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office, the Maryland State Police, and the Garrett County State’s Attorney Office.
