Drug Arrests Following Traffic Stop
On April 1, 2026, at approximately 4:00 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle along Hoyes Sang Run Road for traffic violations. During the stop, a Maryland State Police K-9 was utilized and conducted a K-9 scan of the vehicle, resulting in a positive alert.
A subsequent search of the vehicle and occupants led to the recovery of Fentanyl, Buprenorphine, and drug paraphernalia.
As a result of the traffic stop and search, the following individuals were arrested and charged:
▪️ Allen Scott Sweitzer, 43, Oakland - Possession of Buprenorphine
▪️ Emiley Yvonne Capel, 30, Oakland – Possession of Fentanyl, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Both Sweitzer and Capel were arrested and transported to the Garrett County Detention Center. Sweitzer was later released on his own recognizance, and Capel is being held without bond after appearing before a District Court Commissioner.
