From the desk of Sheriff Bryson Meyers:
On April 19, 2026, around 3:15 pm, deputies responded to Maryland Highway in the area of Freedom Ag & Energy for a report of a male walking along the roadway "flashing" vehicles passing by and exposing himself.
Through the investigation, deputies located and arrested Joseph Michael Collins, 46 years old, Deer Park, for indecent exposure. During the course of the arrest, Collins resisted arrest and pulled away from deputies until he was finally secured and handcuffed.
A search of Collins revealed a quantity of methamphetamine. Collins was arrested and charged with:
• Indecent Exposure
• Possession of Methamphetamine
• Resisting Arrest
Collins was transported to the Garrett County Detention Center where he was later released on his own recognizance after appearing before a District Court Commissioner.
