On March 20, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., deputies from the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office and an officer with Natural Resources Police responded to the 12000 block of Garrett Highway for a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, deputies located two vehicles involved in a collision with a pedestrian. As a result of the incident, Tina Lynn Roberts, 62, of St. Augustine, Florida, was transported to Garrett Regional Medical Center and later pronounced deceased. The incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team. Assistance at the scene was provided by Southern Garrett EMS, the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department, and the Maryland State Highway Administration.
