On February 12, 2026, deputies responded to Tanglewood Drive near Fingerboard Road for a report of an individual acting irrational, screaming, and standing in the road. During the investigation the individual, Sarah Elizabeth Stromwell, 55 years old, Oakland, assaulted deputies. Stromwell was placed under arrest and charged with Assault and Disturbing the Peace. Stromwell was transported to the Garrett County Detention Center where she is being held pending a bond hearing.
