Indictments Obtained for Two Mountain Lake Park Residents

From the desk of Sheriff Bryson Meyers: 

On September 15, 2025, Grand Jury Indictments were obtained for two Mountain Lake Park residents for the Distribution of Controlled Dangerous Substances. The indictments were obtained after a three-month investigation conducted by Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force into the Distribution of Controlled Dangerous Substances in the Mountain Lake Park area. On September 18, 2025, deputies served the indictments and arrested the following individuals: William James Zimmerman, 53 years old, Mountain Lake Park, for 2 counts of Distribution of Methamphetamine, and Nicholas Alan DeWitt, 36 years old, Mountain Lake Park, for Distribution of Methamphetamine, and Distribution of Fentanyl. Both Zimmerman and DeWitt were arrested and are currently being held in the Garrett County Detention Center. 

Sheriff Meyers stated, “Detectives will continue to work to identify and arrest drug distributors in Garrett County. I commend the Detectives for their work and dedication, removing illicit drugs from our communities and making Garrett County a safe place to live and raise our families.”
