On September 7, 2025, Sheriff Meyers conducted a presentation on Fraud and Theft Schemes at the Mountain Lake Independent Baptist Church to local residents.
Garrett County continues to see an increase in Fraud and Theft Schemes, mainly amongst the elderly, and Sheriff Meyers urges all residents to use caution when taking these types of phone calls.
