Investigation Leads to Arrest in Keyser, WV

On July 15, 2025, around 1:00 am, deputies investigated a burglary at the Patriot Automotive Group along Maryland Highway. During the burglary suspect(s) stole numerous tires from the business. On July 17, 2025, Officers with the Keyser Police Department and Deputies with the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office located the stolen tires at a residence along Baltimore Garden Lane in Keyser, West Virginia. 

As a result of the investigations, Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division obtained an arrest warrant charging Brandon Keith Shears, 36 years old, Keyser, with Second Degree Burglary, Fourth Degree Burglary, and Theft. On July 17, 2025, Shears was arrested by Officers with the Keyser Police Department and is currently being held in the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail awaiting extradition back to Maryland. 

Sheriff Meyers stated, “I would like to thank the Officers with the Keyser Police Department and Deputies with the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office for assisting in the investigation and recovering thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen property. This is an example of the cooperative efforts between allied agencies working together to bring this case to a successful closure.”
