On May 1, 2025, Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division, Detectives with the Garrett County Narcotics Task Force, Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigator, and Patrol Deputies executed a Search and Seizure Warrant at Sammy’s Vape Shop along Garrett Highway in Oakland. During the search, Detectives recovered over 150 individual packages of marijuana totaling approximately 1 pound of marijuana. Detectives also seized $1,733.00 in United States Currency. As a result of the investigation and search warrant, Detectives arrested and charged Ebrahim Abdullah Ali, 33 years old, Oakland, with Possession with Intent to Distribute Cannabis. Ali is currently being held in the Garrett County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing. Sheriff Meyers stated, “Enforcement efforts will continue throughout the county, and Detectives will continue to work to investigate these types of crimes”.
