On April 3, 2025, Deputies with the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle along Third Street in Oakland for traffic violations. During the course of the traffic stop, a Sheriff’s Office K-9 was utilized and conducted a scan of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert. A subsequent search of the vehicle and occupants revealed a quantity of fentanyl and methamphetamine. As a result of the traffic stop and search, Detectives with the Narcotics Task Force arrested and charged the passenger in the vehicle, Kelly Renee Corby, 48 years old, Mountain Lake Park, with Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a Place of Confinement, and Possession of Paraphernalia. Corby was arrested and transported to the Garrett County Detention Center, where she was later released on a $5,000.00 unsecured bond.
