Garrett County Sheriff's Office Announces Increased School Traffic Enforcement

From the desk of Sheriff Bryson Meyers:

The Garrett County Sheriff’s Office will be increasing law enforcement presence around local schools to help promote traffic safety and protect students, parents, staff, and school transportation personnel.

Deputies will be monitoring traffic patterns around school campuses, including drop-off and pick-up areas, with a focus on speeding, distracted driving, improper parking, and other traffic violations that can create unsafe conditions.

Drivers are reminded to slow down, remain alert, follow posted speed limits and traffic-control devices, and watch carefully for students and school buses.

This increased presence is intended to improve safety and awareness—not simply to issue citations. The Sheriff’s Office asks everyone traveling near our schools to allow extra time, exercise patience, and make student safety a priority.

Please slow down. Stay alert. Help us keep our schools and students safe.
