Keyser Man Arrested for Possession Methamphetamine

From the desk of Sheriff Bryson Meyers:

On June 30, 2026, around 11:00 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle along Deer Park Avenue, for traffic violations. During the course of the traffic stop, a Sheriff’s Office K-9 was utilized which resulted in a positive K-9 alert. A subsequent search was conducted which resulted in the recovery of a methamphetamine smoking device and suboxone. 

The driver of the vehicle, Billy Joe O’Brien, 49 years old, Keyser, West Virginia, was arrested and charged with the following: 

• Possession Methamphetamine 

• Possession of Suboxone 

• Possession of Paraphernalia 

O’Brien was transported to the Garrett County Detention Center and was later released on an unsecured bond after appearing before a District Court Commissioner.
