On June 10, 2026, around 11:30 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle along Sand Flat Road for traffic violations. As a result of the traffic stop and investigation, Johnnie Brett Smith, 68 years old, Finleyville, Pennsylvania, was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and related traffic charges. Smith was transported to the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office and was later released.
