On January 24, 2026, around 9:00 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle along Youghiogheny Drive, Mountain Lake Park, for traffic violations. Deputies learned that the driver Zachary Ellis Campbell, 30 years old, Mountain Lake Park, had an outstanding bench warrant from Somerset County, Maryland. During the course of the stop, a K-9 scan was conducted utilizing a Sheriff’s Office K-9, and a positive alert was obtained.
A search of the vehicle and driver revealed approximately 15 grams of Methamphetamine, along with approximately 2 grams of Crack Cocaine, digital scales, and ammunition which he is prohibited from possessing. Campbell was arrested and subsequently charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Ammunition while being a prohibited person, and traffic offenses. Campbell was transported to the Garrett County Detention Center where he is currently being held without bond.
