On July 10, 2024, Garrett County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted by members of the Garrett County Narcotics Task Force and stopped a vehicle along Spring Glade Road for traffic violations. During the traffic stop, a Sheriff’s Office K-9 was utilized and conducted a K-9 scan of the vehicle which resulted in a positive indication. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of approximately 12 grams of Methamphetamine, having a street value of approximately $1,200.00, and a quantity of fentanyl. As a result of the investigation, detectives also seized $435.00 in United States Currency.
The driver, Melissa Ann Wilson, 37 years old, Oakland, was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Fentanyl. Wilson was transported to the Garrett County Detention Center and later released on a $3,500.00 unsecured bond after an initial appearance at the District Court Commissioner’s Office.
