Sheriff Meyers and the staff of the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate Correctional Officer Samara Goebel who was recently recognized as the Garrett County Detention Center’s Outstanding Employee for the First Quarter of 2026.
Samara has served with the Sheriff’s Office for just under 2 years and is responsible for the safety and security of those committed to custody of the detention center.
Samara has located and recovered controlled substances on 2 incoming arrests this quarter, preventing the introduction of contraband into the facility. Samara is highly commended for her hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the agency.
